Saving Every Drop: Arca Continental Donates 10,000 Eco-Friendly Showerheads in Torreón

July 16, 2025 – With the goal of promoting responsible water use in households, Arca Continental—one of Coca-Cola’s largest bottlers worldwide—and Coca-Cola Mexico donated 10,000 eco-friendly showerheads to be distributed to families in Torreón. The distribution will be carried out by the State Government and municipal authorities, who will oversee delivery in local communities.

Each showerhead complies with the NOM-008-CONAGUA-1998 standard and enables up to 60% water savings compared to conventional models. While a traditional showerhead uses 6.2 liters per minute, the new “Eco-grade” models require only 3.8 liters, resulting in an estimated annual savings of over 325 million liters of water once installed in beneficiary households.

The total investment by Arca Continental and Coca-Cola Mexico in these initiatives exceeds 1.5 million pesos, driving concrete solutions for efficient water use in Coahuila homes.

The “Ahórrate un Chorro” program, led by Arca Continental and Coca-Cola Mexico, has enabled the distribution of more than 37,000 eco-friendly showerheads across Coahuila, benefiting families in Acuña, Arteaga, Frontera, Monclova, Nava, Parras, Saltillo, and Torreón. This initiative is part of their broader water security strategy, which includes access to water, conservation of water sources, and efficient use of the resource in their operations.

During the symbolic event, which was attended by state and municipal authorities, five showerheads were ceremonially handed over to community beneficiaries. One of the recipients shared their testimony, highlighting how initiatives like this provide relief to household budgets and contribute directly to water conservation.
