Ecopunto Iguazu _IMG

Iguazú, Argentina September 03, 2020.-As part of the actions stemming from the collaboration agreement signed in 2019 with the municipality of Iguazú, Coca-Cola Argentina, Arca Continental, and other organisms have made progress in promoting a circular economy model by installing two Eco-Points to which neighbors in Iguazú can take their recyclable materials.

In addition, over the next few weeks other efforts will be implemented to strengthen the work of the Cataratas Recycling Co-op, offer options to help neighbors separate their waste for recycling, and create awareness among the population in general.

Arca Continental has several programs to promote recycling and the circular economy through different actions in every territory where it operates. Examples worth mentioning include the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the UN, which aims to eradicate plastic waste and contamination by implementing new regulations. By the same token, the company participated in the signing of the New Plastics Economy Commitment in Mexico, in collaboration with the Mexican Senate.

Furthermore, the company heads other initiatives such as PetStar, the world’s largest food grade PET recycling facility, in Mexico; the inclusive recycling program known as DAR, in Ecuador; promoting returnability with a universal bottle in Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, and Peru; and promoting community recycling through different efforts in the US. Recently, Arca Continental Lindley and Coca-Cola Peru were awarded the first seal granted by the Peruvian government for achieving 100% of the goals established in the Clean Production Agreement (Acuerdo de Producción Limpia).

With actions such as these, Arca Continental strengthens its sustainability strategy and underscores its commitment to environmental stewardship, thus consolidating its position as an agent of positive change in every territory where it operates.
