Arca Continental recognized for sustainable results

Monterrey, Mexico, December 20, 2022.- Arca Continental, one of the largest
Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, has been recognized for its environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) performance with its fourth consecutive confirmation in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA).

Following the company’s integration of sustainability throughout its value chain and business processes, Arca Continental experienced growth in several areas of the Standard & Poor's (S&P) Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), ranking in the top 10 of evaluated organizations in the industry.

AC joins the "A" list in combating climate change

As a result of its strong performance in ESG indicators, the company made progress in its environmental commitments, achieving anA-rating in the CDP’s climate change category, entering a select group of the top 282 organizations worldwide.

The CDP evaluates management systems and improvement projects of institutions, governments, and companies from 90 countries in 11 categories.

Arca Continental increased its rating after implementing projects to address climate change. The company also ensured effective environmental management in terms of water resources.

Most notable among several achievements was the more than 3 billion bottles recycled per year and the gathering of 6 out of 10 bottles available in the market through PetStar, the largest food-grade bottle PET recycling plant in the world, led by Arca Continental, The Coca-Cola Company and other bottlers.

Also, the continuous improvement in water use efficiency indicators, with 26% reduction of water used per each liter of beverage produced when compared to 2010, as well as the company’s commitment to return to nature 100% of water used in its manufacturing process; besides shared value actions benefitting the community, and other initiatives that are outlined in the Integrated Annual Report.

These achievements come in addition to the company’s participation in the FTSE4Good Index, of the London Stock Exchange, the S&P/BMV Total México ESG of the Mexican Stock Exchange and the ESG rating provided by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), among others.
