Monterrey, Nuevo León – March 11, 2025. As part of their commitment to sustainability and to creating value in the communities where they operate, Arca Continental—one of the world’s largest Coca-Cola bottlers—and Coca-Cola Mexico have signed a collaboration agreement with the Municipality of Monterrey to promote initiatives focused on recycling, water efficiency, and community development.

This agreement represents a joint effort to generate a positive impact on the Monterrey community by fostering a circular economy and social well-being through concrete actions.

"This agreement not only strengthens our partnership with the Municipality of Monterrey but also reinforces our commitment to operating a sustainable business model that creates value for the community and the environment," stated José Borda, Executive Director of Arca Continental Mexico.

As the first action resulting from the agreement, 50 containers from the "Con Todo, Por Favor" program will be installed to strengthen the city's recycling culture.

Through this initiative, the collected PET will be recycled at PetStar, the world’s largest food-grade PET recycling plant, led by Arca Continental, Coca-Cola Mexico, and other bottlers, to be transformed into new bottles.

The economic value of all the recovered PET will be donated by Arca Continental to various nonprofit organizations, including AMANEC, Cáritas de Monterrey, Club de Niños y Niñas de Nuevo León, Fundación Dibujando un Mañana, and Fundación UANL.

The agreement also includes other key initiatives such as the installation of "drive-thru" recycling stations, the distribution of eco-friendly showerheads in water-stressed areas, the maintenance of public parks, and environmental conservation projects throughout the city.

During the announcement event, Monterrey Mayor Adrián de la Garza highlighted the importance of forming agreements and working together for environmental sustainability, emphasizing that it has become one of his main priorities.

"For the Government of Monterrey, it is music to our ears to be able to collaborate on these kinds of initiatives. We have made efforts with the 'Recicla y Resuelve' program in different areas of Monterrey once a month, and we see a lot of community engagement. I am confident that the program launching today will make a great contribution to the city," said Adrián de la Garza. "This is not the first time we have worked alongside Arca Continental, a socially responsible and proudly Monterrey-based company that plays a crucial role in the well-being of the people of Monterrey, Nuevo León, and the greater metropolitan area," he added.

The collaboration between government, private sector, and community stakeholders is essential to achieving meaningful and lasting impact. Through this agreement, Arca Continental and the Municipality of Monterrey reaffirm their belief that working together is the best way to drive initiatives that benefit society, fostering a cleaner, more responsible, and more equitable environment for all.
